The CECUA Academy proudly presents its report:
The users: Hostages of the Free Market?
by our research team Dr. Bruno MARTUZĀNS, Katrina SATAKI and Iveta SKUJINA
At the level of organization CEUCA needs a broad spectrum of expertise to deal with a wide variety of issues and requests received. The issues are only partly technical but also legal, economic, social and political. They need to be addressed by a team of experts from the various disciplines. Only this approach will deliver the desired results. Therefore, a new thinking and new approach is needed.
This report was researched and written by a multidisciplinary team consisting of computer scientists, lawyers and physicists from a new EU member state, Latvia.
The report can be viewed as a part of the EU 25 integration process. It certainly offers an insight into the views of people born and brought up in another political and economic system.
I would like to express my thanks to the research team for their excellent work. Also would I like to thank the reviewers who provided many valuable comments and suggestions.
I hope this will only be the first of many reports from the Academy, either on its own or in co-operation with other parties. Any suggestions you have are always welcome.
